Scan receipts without keeping your inbox
Scanly asks Google for read-only Gmail access, searches only for likely receipt and order messages, processes at most six recent matches in memory and immediately discards the message bodies. Disconnect at any time to revoke access.
A basket score is shown only when products match the current catalog. Coverage appears beside every result, and unmatched items never receive invented scores.

Google shows the exact read-only permission before connecting. Access expires within an hour. Likely receipt emails are encrypted and retained for up to 30 days so extraction issues can be debugged; attachments and refresh tokens are not stored.

Receipt names, sizes and retailer data are matched to the product catalog. Uncertain matches wait for your review.

Matched packaged products form the receipt score. You see every item, the evidence behind it and what moved the total.
Privacy by design
Permission should be narrow and reversible
The connection asks before reading, uses a short-lived encrypted session and offers a one-click disconnect that revokes Google access. Receipt content is processed only to produce the requested result—not to sell ads or train unrelated models.
Does Scanly read my email today?
The private beta can connect to Gmail with read-only permission after its production OAuth credentials are configured. Access expires within one hour; Scanly does not store message bodies or a refresh token.
What happens when a receipt line cannot be matched?
It stays visible as an unmatched item and is excluded from the calculation. Scanly will not invent a product match or silently treat missing data as healthy.
How is the receipt score calculated?
The proposed first version averages the disclosed Scanly scores of confidently matched packaged products. Fresh produce, household goods and uncertain matches are listed separately rather than forced into the number.
